A good crowd gathered last night for the annual Daviess County Chamber of Commerce banquet at the Montgomery Ruritan. Several special awards were presented as part of the program. This year’s Hagel Award winner was Glen Graber at Graber Post. The Business of the Year award went to RTC Communications, while the Small Business of the Year honors went to Thompson Insurance. The Impact Award was presented to Mayor Dave Rhoads and the City of Washington. Jeremy Adams was given the FireStarter Award, recognizing a business leader making an impact under the age of 40. The Dillon Tourism Award was presented to the Daviess County Construction Show, held each year in February and drawing thousands to our community. The theme for the evening was “Viva Las Daviess,” and the crowd enjoyed a performance from Elvis to cap off the evening.
