A woman was arrested by Bloomington police after an 18-year-old was stabbed multiple times at a bus stop on 4th Street near the B-Line Trail.
The victim called the police around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, reporting that she had been hit multiple times in the head with an unknown object by an unknown female who had fled before the police arrived.
The victim, who had multiple lacerations, was taken to the hospital. Surveillance footage showed the suspect, identified as 56-year-old Billie Davis, stabbing the victim several times in the head with a knife.
Davis admitted to the stabbing when questioned and was booked into the Monroe County Jail on a preliminary charge of aggravated battery, which was later amended to attempted murder. The prosecutor’s office will make the final charging decision.
Court documents show Davis admitted to targeting the teen because of her race. Davis has been charged with attempted murder, a level 1 felony, as well as aggravated battery.
