A new program will begin in mid-February in Knox County to help local law enforcement.
The Live 9-1-1 program will allow officers to hear the 9-1-1 calls dispatchers receive, which will give police the opportunity to get to the area of concern quicker than waiting for dispatch to let them know.
The officers will receive an app to hear the calls, and a new server will be put in place at dispatch to get the program started.
The department hopes to have the program in place by the middle of next month.
