Jasper Man Arrested on Multiple Charges, Including Domestic Violence and Warrant for Fraud

44-year-old Mark A. Alexander was arrested on multiple charges, including battery and strangulation, following reports of domestic violence in Jasper on March 1st, 2023. According to the Jasper Police Department, multiple calls were received reporting the incident, and a white SUV, which the suspect was driving, was located by an officer in the area of Forty Seventh Street and Portersville Road. The suspect led officers on a brief pursuit that ended on Forty First Street, where he was detained and transported to the Jasper Police Department. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had battered and strangled a female victim, preventing her from contacting 911. While in custody, the suspect caused damage to a holding cell door. The suspect also had an active warrant out of Martin County for fraud. The Jasper Police Department was assisted by Ruxer’s Wrecker Service, the Indiana Conservation Officer, and Memorial Hospital EMS. The suspect was transported and lodged in the Dubois County Security Center on the aforementioned charges and held on the out-of-county warrant.
