James “Jim” D. Cline (Pappaw), 85, of Loogootee, went to his heavenly home Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Jim was born in Montgomery, Indiana, on July 31, 1937, to the late Ruth Russell Cline and William R. Cline.
Jim served his country in the United States Navy, senior chief of his submarine division. After 20 years of serving his country, he was employed at NSWC Crane from which he retired after more than 20 years. Jim was a hardworking man who was a devoted husband, father, and Pappaw. He enjoyed going four-wheeler riding, fishing, and camping.
Those left to mourn the loss of Jim are his loving daughters, Sheila White (Robert “Bob” Jr.) of Loogootee, and Kim Lents, also of Loogootee; four grandchildren, Robert E. White III, Jodi L. White, Shane Wagler (Michelle) and Chase Lents; three great-grandchildren, McKenzie White, Ethan White and Emilia Wagler; and Heather White and Alan Lents.
Jim is preceded in death by parents; wife, Wanda Faye Healy Cline; a son, James D. Cline Jr.; and 15 siblings.
There will be visitation Monday, March 6, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St., Washington, IN 47501. On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. a procession will begin at Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home to Sugarland Memorial Cemetery, where a military honors ceremony will be held.
