In Knox County Circuit Court proceedings a Lawrenceville, Illinois man plead guilty to murder  during the third day of his trial.

Knox County Prosecutor Dirk Carnahan says 44-year-old C.C. Lee Cochran admitted that he knowingly killed 30-year-old Christopher Anderson by slashing his throat while both were in a moving vehicle.

The victim then drove the car a short distance and crashed into a house at 28-33 Old US 41.

After investigation deputies determined the deep lacerations found on Anderson were not caused by the crash.

Sentencing hearing will be scheduled in the coming weeks.
