Loogootee Mayor Noel Harty faces a challenge in today’s primary election. The incumbent is being challenged by Teresa Nolley, a member of the Loogootee City Council. The winner will face off with Brian Ader, who has filed on the Republican ticket unopposed in the primary. The other contested race today is Loogootee for Council at Large on the Democratic ticket. James (J.D.) Flynn is facing off with Ron Gilbert.
In Vincennes today, Mayor Joe Yochem is challenged by Michael Devine on the Democratic ticket, while two Republicans will try to get their chance in the general election in November. On the G.O.P. ticket, Tim Salters is facing Jack Boger in the mayoral primary. There are no other races in Knox County today.
There are no races contested in the primary today in Pike County. The polls will remain open until 6 p.m. tonight.
