Arrest Made After Intoxicated Incident at Westwood Apartments in Jasper, Multiple Charges Filed

Joshua Guernsey, 23, was taken into custody on Friday evening after an incident at the Westwood Apartments parking lot. Witnesses reported observing a black Ford Explorer with two individuals who appeared to be intoxicated. The front-seat passenger was reportedly vomiting out of the window. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Guernsey was operating the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Guernsey and the front-seat passenger, a juvenile, were both intoxicated. Due to the severity of the minor’s impairment, emergency medical services were called to the scene. Guernsey was transported to Memorial Hospital for a blood alcohol content test, and results showed his blood alcohol level to be .11. Guernsey now faces multiple charges, including Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Neglect of a Dependent, Operating While Intoxicated – Minor Passenger in Vehicle, Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, Operating While Intoxicated, and Operator Never Received a License. The juvenile passenger was charged with Illegal Possession, Consumption, or Transportation of Alcohol. Guernsey was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center pending further legal proceedings.
