Donald “Donnie” Gee, 63, of Bloomfield, formerly of Loogootee, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

He was born October 2, 1959 in Jasper, Indiana to the late Lloyd and Wilma (Martin) Gee.

Donnie graduated from Loogootee High School in 1978 and received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University. He served in the United States Army for four years. Donnie was currently employed at NSWC Crane as an Engineering Electronic Technician and worked in the Spectrum Department for Airborne Electronic Attacks Systems Division. He previously was employed at SAIC for 24 years as a Task Manager for Systems Hardware Integration.

Donnie enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his bike, playing sports, photography and listening to music. He was an inductee to the Indiana Softball Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Gee and Wilma Gee; brother, Joe Gee; sisters, Patty Bowling, Caroline Gee, and Peggy Schwartz; niece, Debbie Harmon; nephew, John Gee; brother-in-law, Jerry Baxter.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Jeanne Gee of Bloomfield; daughters, Tonya (Jared) Mathies of Loogootee and Nikki Gee (Jorge Caldera) of O’Fallon, Missouri; stepchildren, Blake Gillenwater of Bloomfield and Jordan Gillenwater of Drums, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Haylie Mathies and Landon Mathies; siblings, Lois Baxter of Jeffersonville, Brenda (Charlie) Rinker of Loogootee, Judy (Pat) Sinnott of Loogootee, Junior Gee of Florida; sister-in-law Lynn Gee; brother-in-law, Don Bowling; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 15, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home.
