Dwight Maust, 87, of Washington, passed away at 5:42 p.m. Tuesday, February 20th, 2024 at his home.

He was born August 26, 1936 in Pigeon, Michigan to the late Paul O. and Esther P. (Weldy) Maust.

Dwight married Wanda (Stoll) Maust on August 23, 1958 and she preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Providence Mennonite Church. Dwight was a member of the Missions Committee, a past church treasurer and Sunday school teacher. He took special interest in serving through the Mennonite Central Committee and the Mennonite Disaster Service. He worked as a Surgical Orderly for 37 years at Daviess Community Hospital. After his wife’s passing in 2006, he retired and became a member of the DCH Auxiliary, where he proudly “worked” as a Blue Coat on Tuesdays every day he was able.

Dwight was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda (Stoll) Maust; daughter, Cheryl Maust; parents, Paul and Esther Maust; brothers, Ray Maust, Clifford (Dorothy) Maust, and Elmer Maust; brothers-in-law, Edward Slaubaugh, Donnie Peats, and Dwaine Swartzentruber; sisters-in-law, Wilmetta Maust and Donna Gingerich.

He is survived by his daughters, Marietta (Delbert) Wagler of Montgomery and Melody (Dennis) Brunson of Washington; grandchildren, Douglas (Julie) Wagler, Matthew (Jennifer) Wagler, Madison Brunson and Mariah Brunson; great-grandchildren, Corban Levi and Easton Lee; siblings, Iva Peats, Marilyn Slaubaugh, Norman Maust, Thelma Swartzentruber, Opal (Roger) Waugh, Orpha Stutzman, Paul (Carol) Maust, and Galen (Sharon) Maust; sister-in-law, Eunice Maust.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at Providence Mennonite Church in Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Providence Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
