A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured seven children in Indianapolis at the end of last month. IMPD announced on Tuesday morning that the teenager, identified as King Dennis, was taken into custody on Friday, April 5. Dennis faces charges, including two counts of criminal recklessness and dangerous possession of a firearm. Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears emphasized the seriousness of the charges, citing the defendant’s criminal history. The shooting occurred downtown on March 30, with the injured children ranging in age from 12 to 16. Authorities believe there may be additional suspects involved. The state has filed a motion for greater than standard bond and a stay-away order prohibiting the individual, upon release, from entering a six-block radius of the incident location. Two other juveniles were arrested on April 1 for resisting law enforcement at the scene, but their involvement in the shooting remains unclear.
