The Indiana Military Museum (IMM) is set to hold a dedication ceremony on April 20 at 11:00 AM at 715 S 6th St., Vincennes, in the Annex building. The ceremony will commemorate the donation of a Russian WWII Model T34-85 tank. In 1990, Robert Costa, the president of the Wisconsin Military History Museum, wrote a letter to Mikhail Gorbachev, then the leader of the Soviet Union, requesting a Russian T-34 tank. Surprisingly, Mr. Gorbachev fulfilled this request, and the tank was sent to the United States. Before its journey to the US, the tank underwent a complete restoration, making it the most complete operational T-34 in the country. With the closure of the Wisconsin Museum and the passing of Mr. Costa, his family has honored his wish for the tank to be donated to the IMM. The dedication ceremony will be open to the public on April 20 at 11:00 a.m. at 715 S 6th St., Vincennes, in the Annex building.
