The Daviess County Treasurer, Jamie Chapman, has reminded residents that property tax statements for 2023 payable in 2024 were mailed on April 1st. The first installment of taxes is due by Friday, May 10th. If anyone has not received their tax statements, they are urged to contact the treasurer’s office at 812-254-8677 as soon as possible. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Payments can be made via credit card online at www.govtechtaxpro.com or by calling 844-678-1656. Payments can also be made in person at the treasurer’s office. Additionally, new this year, tax payments can be made at First Financial Bank, located at 300 E. Main Street, Washington. Taxpayers must bring their tax statement with them for processing at the bank. For those paying by mail, it is advised to enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope to receive a receipt back.
