Discover Downtown Washington has been recognized as an Aspiring Indiana Accredited Main Street organization by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA). The designation places Washington within one year of meeting all accreditation standards set by Main Street America. This achievement follows a series of milestones for Discover Downtown Washington, including the adoption of the Downtown Revitalization Plan in January and receiving the Dillon Tourism Award from the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce in February. As an aspiring Main Street organization, Discover Downtown Washington will gain access to specialized training, networking opportunities, and resources to further its efforts in downtown revitalization.
