Janet Gail Walton, 85, of Loogootee, Indiana passed away on Saturday April 26, 2025 at Sycamore Care Center in Loogootee, Indiana.
She was born on May 19, 1939, in Alfordsville, Indiana to Robert and Ivy (Abel) Frye.
Janet married Dwayne G. Walton on April 27, 1958. She attended Hindostan Methodist Church. Janet was a natural caregiver and dedicated her life to caring for her family. She liked to listen to Johnny Cash and was a member of “The Johnny Cash Fan Club.” Janet was a wonderful piano player and shared her passion by teaching piano lessons to many members of the community. She will be missed by all the knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne G. Walton, her daughter, Jewel “Julie” Walton, her parents, Robert and Ivy Frye, her siblings, Larry Frye, Jim Frye, Barbara Chambers, and Judy Bridges.
Janet is survived by her children, John (Lorie) Walton, Thomas Walton; her grandchildren, Vanessa Walton – Stovall, Cody (Natasha) McConnell, Garrett (Shelbi) McConnell; great – grandchildren, Stoshu, Marek, Niko, & Ella McConnell, and Walt & Wren Stovall; her brother, Gary (Janie) Frye and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday May 2, 2025, at 2:00 P.M with Rev. Gerald Frye to officiate. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Friday May 2, 2025, from 11:00 A.M until the time of service at 2:00 P.M at Blake Funeral Home, in Loogootee, Indiana.
