The Daviess County Sheriffs office,Vincennes Police Department, and Knox County Sheriff’s Office will increase patrols from May 17 to May 31 as part of the national “Click It or Ticket” campaign. The effort, backed by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute and funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, aims to boost seat belt use and promote safe driving ahead of Memorial Day weekend. Officers will take a no-excuses approach, issuing citations to anyone not properly buckled. Indiana’s seat belt usage rate stands at 93.6%, but officials say there’s still work to do to reach all drivers.
