James “JD” Strange

James “JD” Strange, 77, of Vincennes, Indiana passed away May 4, 2025. He was born in Washington, Indiana to the late Eugene Strange on March 21, 1948. JD attended Washington High School and was a graduate of the 1966 class. He continued his education with Vincennes University and Indiana University, getting his bachelor’s degree in business. JD married the love of his life Marty Guy on July 8, 1972, and they were blessed with 52 years together. He worked the majority of his life as an insurance adjuster with Cincinnati Insurance before his retirement in 2010. JD proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp.
In his free time, JD enjoyed volunteering at the military museum, golfing, yard work, spending time with his family, going to the beach, cooking, and helping assemble furniture with his family. JD also enjoyed doing radio shows to help promote the military museum. He will be deeply missed.
JD was preceded in death by by his parents Gene and Thelma Strange; daughter Brooke Strange; brother Phil Strange, Richard Heffernan, and Jerry Heffernan.
He is survived by wife Marty Strange; sons Ryan and Troy Strange; grandson Cameron (Aliyah) Strange; great-granddaughters Eve and Mila; siblings Michael (Cindy) Strange, Pam Worland, Patty (Jaret) Gray; sisters-in-law Judy Strange, Catherine Heffernan and Debbie Heffernan; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Stange. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 10 am to service time. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin promptly at noon and burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery will follow with full military honors.
