Midwestern Engineers Inc. has earned a 2025 Engineering Excellence Merit Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies for its groundbreaking water infrastructure project in Poseyville. The project introduced Indiana’s first municipal low-waste ion exchange nitrate treatment system, addressing high nitrate levels in groundwater—an issue especially concerning for infants and pregnant women in agricultural areas. The system, fully operational since July 2024, has consistently met safe nitrate standards. Midwestern Engineers collaborated closely with Poseyville officials to design a sustainable and easy-to-manage solution. Founded in 1959, Midwestern Engineers is known for its expertise in water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure across Indiana.
