A woman has died following a crash involving a golf cart and a pickup truck Monday morning in Bicknell. Knox County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at Main and Third Streets around 8:47 a.m. and found 57-year-old Anissa Everett lying on the ground near a golf cart. She was conscious and alert at the time but was transported to the hospital, where her condition rapidly deteriorated. She later passed away from internal injuries sustained in the crash. The pickup truck was driven by a 17-year-old male who told deputies both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time. The crash occurred at low speed with minimal visible damage. An autopsy confirmed Everett died from internal injuries, and her death has been ruled accidental. Authorities remind the public that golf carts are not designed for roadways and lack safety features such as seatbelts. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office extended condolences to Everett’s family and to the teen involved in the incident.
