Longtime Loogootee softball coach Greg Clark has officially announced his retirement after 25 seasons leading the Lady Lions. Clark, who began his journey with the program by keeping stats from the dugout, became head coach in 2004 and immediately led the team to its first-ever sectional championship. During his tenure, Clark built a respected and competitive program, guiding the team to multiple sectional and regional titles, and two semi-state appearances in 2019 and 2021. Over the years, Clark helped spearhead major facility improvements, including building the team’s “Dog House” clubhouse and upgrading Costello Field’s press box and dugouts, largely through grassroots fundraising and community support. Though stepping away from coaching, Clark says he still loves the game and plans to support the team however he can from the sidelines.
