The Daviess County Family YMCA has been awarded a $550 Fast Grant from Our Community Foundation to purchase new lifesaving training equipment. The funds were used to acquire lifeguard rescue tubes, CPR manikin attachments, a dive brick, and tourniquet arm trainers, which will support the YMCA’s lifesaving courses and staff training. Aquatics Director Jessika Henning said the YMCA trains up to 60 lifeguards and 45 staff members annually in CPR, AED, and First Aid. With the only indoor pool in the area, the YMCA offers year-round training and plans to expand public safety education.
