It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend. On Sunday, July 20th, in an accident while riding dirt bikes in Durham, Georgia, Logan Dalton Rainey embarked upon his eternal journey at the age of 36 years old.

Logan Rainey, of Washington, Indiana, was born on November 14, 1988, the much beloved son of Brian and Lori (Mattingly) Rainey, grandson of Larry and Monica Mattingly, brother of John and Brianne (Rainey) Davidson, and of Chase and Mary (Rainey) McClure. He was the doting and devoted uncle of Abigail, Jordyn, Isabella, and Ezra Davidson, and of MolliKetchem, and Miller McClure.

Logan was an adventurer, a nature-lover, and a world-traveler. He had a passion for experiencing the wonders of God’s creation and a fierce determination to live his life to the fullest. Extreme hiking, skydiving, bungee jumping, white water rafting, and dirt bike riding are but a few of the adventurous feats that Logan experienced in his short life. But what he will be most remembered for is his great love for and devotion to his family and friends. He was known for his sense of humor, playful antics, thoughtful gestures, acts of generosity, deep loyalty, and intentional priority towards spending time with those he loved. He will ever be regarded as the dearest of sons, most beloved of uncles, and truest of friends.

Though we are deeply grieved and shocked by his sudden loss, we are supremely grateful for the 36 years of life that the Lord gave Logan and for the whole-hearted way in which he lived them. His memory will remain firmly and fondly in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege and joy of knowing him. Logan has left behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and an unforgettable spirit. He will be missed beyond measure, but we will strive to honor his memory in living life as fully as he did.

Arrangements for Logan’s Celebration of Life will be made available in the days to come.
