This year’s Turkey Trot in Montgomery is turning up the heat with its first-ever BBQ Cook-Off on Saturday, September 6th, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Local grill masters are invited to show off their best recipes for a shot at bragging rights and a trophy. To enter, contact Luke at 812-486-6991. Festivalgoers can also sample the BBQ and cast a vote in the People’s Choice category. Also returning is the Montgomery Ruritan Club’s popular Gun Raffle. Only 250 tickets will be sold at $100 each for a chance to win one of 22 different guns. The drawing will take place Sunday, September 7th, during the Turkey Trot Demo Derby. Each ticket stays in the drawing for every round. Must be 18 or older to participate. Tickets are available from any Ruritan Club member or at the Ruritan Park Office. The 2025 Turkey Trot runs September 4–7.
