Federal disaster assistance is on the way for communities across Indiana, including Martin and Greene counties, following approval of a Major Disaster Declaration by President Donald J. Trump. The declaration covers damage caused by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding between March 30 and April 9. FEMA announced that Public Assistance funding is now available to help state, local, and tribal governments, along with eligible nonprofits, recover from the storm’s impact. The assistance will support emergency response efforts, repairs, and facility replacements in 23 affected counties, including Martin and Greene. FEMA noted that additional counties may be added to the declaration as more damage assessments are completed.
