Firefighters Respond to Early Morning House Fire in Washington

Emergency crews responded to a house fire Thursday morning at 814 Jefferson Street in Washington. The fire was reported around 7:46 a.m., with the caller confirming visible flames. Units from the Washington City Fire Department, Washington Police Department, and Daviess County EMS were dispatched to the scene within minutes. Firefighters arrived by 7:49 a.m. and quickly began working to contain the blaze. Utility crews were also called to cut power to the residence for safety. The fire was extinguished by 8:15 a.m., and all units cleared the scene shortly after. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
