Joseph Ray Patterson

Joseph Ray Patterson, age 83, went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2025, at Poplar Nursing Facility in Loogootee, Indiana. He was born on January 26, 1942, at Loogootee, Indiana, to John Francis and Ruby Agnes (Scott) Patterson.

He had three children, Paula Rene Patterson, and twin sons, Terry (Chris) and Larry (Tonya) Patterson, who live in Neosho, MI. He had three grandchildren, Jacob, Kaleb, and Nathan Patterson, and he had five great-grandchildren, Skylar, Reid, Ivy, Alyssa, and Roman, all of Missouri.

He had five siblings: Ralph Patterson, who is deceased; Donna Marie (Jerry) Jennings; Dorothy Mae (Mark) Sallade; James Martin Patterson; and Mary Alice (DJ) Bechtel. He also had a special friend of 30 years, Mary Sue O’Haver, as well as his “lunch bunch” buddy and cousin, Bill Patterson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He went into the Army out of high school for three and a half years. He studied drafting, where he learned his trade of being a photographer. He worked at Norma’s Studio for over 50 years. He has taken more senior pictures and wedding pictures than most could ever imagine. He has a passion for the Lord and singing praises to Him.

A memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Brad Rainey at Harvest Church on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. All friends and family members are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward Ray’s medical expenses.
