Patricia Lynn “Bateman” Walls, 72, passed away on July 14, 2025 at The Legends, her residence for the past year. She was born in Washington, In on May 22, 1953, to Charles Scudder Bateman and Maxine “Horne” Bateman. On November 6, 1970, she married her beloved husband Kenneth James Walls who preceded her in death.
Patty and Kenny were blessed with 4 children. Jennifer Lynn Walls, Kristie Anne Walls, Ryan James Walls, and Jason Charles Walls. Patty loved being a wife and mother. She had the privilege of being a stay at home mom while her children were growing up. She took pride in her home and the meals she prepared, everyone who had the pleasure of sitting at her table savored every bite. She was a fantastic cook.
Once the children were older Patty worked at Sunoco and later Perfect Fit in Loogootee. She met lifelong friends at both places, she truly enjoyed sewing, making quilts, and her fellow employees. While working at Perfect Fit, Patty and Kenny started camping in Montgomery. They had so much fun, Patty loved to camp, ride four wheelers, pitch in dinners, and to spend time with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo and she couldn’t play bingo without pulling those pull tabs. She loved her “Good Ole” Country Music, her favorite was always Clint Black but anything on the Bullet would be just fine. She always had a knack for decorating and her home always showed it. She loved all things shoes and purses, especially Vera Bradleys.
Patty was very proud of her husband and children. She loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She was tiny but mighty, her laugh was contagious and she will always be in our hearts.
Those who now mourn Patricia’s passing include her children: Kirstie Ann Walls of Washington, Ryan James Walls of Bedford, and Jason Charles (Amanda) Walls of Washington. Patricia was blessed with thirteen grandchildren: Chantel Henson; Mack Henson; Marcus Henson; Josephine (Mike) Mayo; Chloe (Jarrett) Lackey; Nathan Walls; Abbie (Kenny) Richardson; Jacob Bowling; Bridget Welborn; Taylor Walls; Drew Walls; Cohen Walls, and Madi Walls. She leaves one sibling: Glenda (Mike) Baker of Florida.
Patty is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maxine Bateman; brother: Daniel Bateman; daughter: Jennifer Lynn Walls;
Celebration of Life will be Saturday August 16, 2025 at New Hope Christian Church 559 E 100 S, Washington, IN 47501. Visitation will be from 2 – 3:30pm. Pastor Andrew Raymond will officiate the service following visitation. There will not be a graveside service. She will be laid to rest alongside Kenny at Sugarland Memory Gardens.
