Vincennes is hosting one of the largest youth sporting events in the nation as more than 300 top players from 14 states and five countries are competing in the 2025 Cal Ripken 10-Year-Old World Series. The tournament started Aug. 9 and runs thru Aug. 16, featuring 78 games and an estimated $7 million economic boost to Knox County. Games are being played at Joe Bilskie Sr. Field and Earl Lawson Field, drawing teams from across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Aruba, Germany, Mexico, and the Philippines. This marks the eighth time Vincennes has hosted the event, which fills thousands of hotel rooms and benefits local restaurants, shops, and attractions. Officials say the World Series not only showcases top youth baseball talent but also leaves a lasting tourism impact, with many families returning to the area for future visits.
