The Elnora Town Council met Monday, August 25, opening with condolences to the family of resident Kenneth Spurlin following his passing earlier that day. Utility Superintendent Allen Callison reported ongoing issues with a potassium pump, repairs needed in the chlorine room, and hydrant flushing scheduled to continue this week. He also highlighted the use of the Ziptility app to modernize mapping of the town’s water and wastewater system, suggesting residents may be given blue flags this winter to mark meter locations for emergencies. The Elnora fire department logged 70 runs last month, losing one firefighter but gaining another. Police issued two citations and 24 warnings. Other business included concerns about tall weeds blocking highway signage, discussion of unlicensed vehicles on properties, and a rejected ordinance on council president term lengths. The meeting closed with approval to shut down Indian Street for the upcoming Antique Show.
