Dubois County’s population grew 4.1% from 2010 to 2022, with its largest annual increase of 2.5% between 2019 and 2020, according to U.S. Census data. That growth is fueling new housing developments in communities like Jasper, Huntingburg, and Ferdinand. In July, ground was broken on Poplar Ridge Apartments in Huntingburg, a $16 million project by Premier Property Management. The complex will feature 126 units and townhomes, with the first apartments expected to be available in spring 2026. The city approved a tax abatement, and the project received $1.5 million in READI 2.0 funding. In Jasper, construction is underway on North Ridge Estates, which will include 12 single-family homes starting around $270,000 and 28 villa-style units. In Ferdinand, Royal Ridge Apartments with 22 townhomes are already fully occupied, and new lots are available at Hidden Meadows Subdivision.
