Marlin Earl Holt, 83, of Shoals, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at his residence.
Born on April 29, 1942 in Shoals, Indiana, he was the beloved son of Theodore Earl and Cleo Mae (Crane) Holt. He married Rose Mary Hotz on July 29, 1961. He worked at US Steel in Gary, Indiana for 20 years, as well as managing Salt Creek Estates mobile home park. In his younger years, Marlin enjoyed photography, fishing, hunting, and Sunday drives with his family. Known for his outgoing and friendly nature, he never met a stranger.
He was preceded by his parents; two brothers: Roger and Ricky Holt. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rose Mary; Children: Debbie (Joe) Nolan and Cynthia Holt; Grandchildren: Alyss (Russ) Puhr, Emily Nolan, and Austin Janus; Siblings: Juanita Moffitt, David Holt, Janice Holt, Randal Keith Holt; Brother-in-law: Howard Hotz; several nieces & nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dover Hill Christian Union Church’s paving and/or the roofing fund.
