Winslow Elementary has been recognized as one of America’s Healthiest Schools for 2025 by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. The school earned the honor for prioritizing nutrition, offering students fresh fruits, vegetables, and protein options. Principal Aaron Meyer said the effort is paying off in the classroom. “Students are more engaged and retain more knowledge when they have nutritional foods in their daily lives,” Meyer noted, adding that test scores and literacy levels reflect the improvement. Beyond nutrition, Winslow is building momentum as it works toward becoming a Certified STEM Elementary School. Recent upgrades include a new STEM lab, robotics team, podcast station, and community-focused events like a 1950s sock hop and school pride days. Meyer praised Winslow’s strong teacher-student ratio, dedicated staff, and community involvement, noting that the school has seen zero staff turnover during his time there.
