Leaders from Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) and Deaconess Health System met with hospital employees on Wednesday to discuss details of the new management services agreement between the two organizations. During two town hall meetings at DCH, Deaconess CEO Shawn McCoy and DCH CEO Justin Harris explained how the partnership, which took effect September 28,  will enhance local healthcare services while maintaining DCH’s local ownership and governance.

Key upcoming changes include:

Closer collaboration with Deaconess hospitals to expand specialty care.

A transition to the Epic electronic health record system in 2026.

Continued local governance, with operational support from Deaconess’ management team.

Expanded in-network options for DCH employees through the Deaconess provider network.

Harris stressed that the move is focused on improving patient care and supporting staff, noting DCH remains locally governed. More updates will be shared as the integration continues into 2026. For additional information, visit dchosp.org.
