
The Washington Park and Recreation Board will hold a meeting on Wednesday, October 15th, in the Council Chambers located at 200 Harned Avenue beginning at 6:00 p.m. All interested citizens and patrons of any of the three parks – East Side, Longfellow, and South Park, are welcome to attend. Your comments and suggestions would be appreciated.
Daviess County Commissioners to Meet October 14
The Daviess County Commissioners will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Daviess County Government Center in Washington. The agenda includes updates from the Highway Department on annual bid advertising, project progress, and LPA voucher claims. Commissioners will also review 2026 not-for-profit funding requests and consider grant applications from Emergency Management Director Scott Myers, including the IDHS Emergency Management Performance Grant and the State Homeland Security Program Grant. Additional items include approval of the payroll and claims dockets, discussion of an online auction receipt, and an IDEM notice regarding Helena Agri Enterprises LLC. Commissioners Nathan Gabhart, Michael Keith, and T.C. Cook will preside over the session.
Daviess County Redevelopment Commission Sets November Meeting
The Daviess County Redevelopment Commission will meet on Wednesday, November 12, at 7:45 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Daviess County Government Center, located at 300 Hefron Street in Washington.
Washington City Council and Board of Works to Meet October 14
The Washington Common Council will meet on Tuesday, October 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 200 Harned Avenue. The agenda includes a moment of silence for veterans, the Pledge of Allegiance, and a written presentation of claims. Council members will also consider Ordinance No. 18-2025, which proposes a revision to Section 112 of the City Code of Ordinances. Following the council session, the Board of Public Works and Safety will convene. Items on that agenda include approval of claims and minutes, a request to install an “Autistic Child in Area” sign on N.E. 19th Street, and a proposal to close Main Street to WHS on November 9 at 4 p.m. for the Veterans Day Parade. The board will also discuss the Field Lift Station Rehabilitation Project Agreement, a salary change in the Electric Department, and two sidewalk applications.
