Our Community Foundation has awarded its Fall Semester Teaching Innovator Grant to Washington Catholic Schools for the “Pioneer Living: Hands-On History Project.”
Educator Shannon Lee accepted the $250 grant and was recognized as a Teaching Innovator for developing a project that immerses 4th-grade students in Indiana’s pioneer era through hands-on activities like churning butter, sewing leather pouches, and making corn husk dolls.
