The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday on County Road 75 North, just east of County Road 1175 West. According to investigators, John Reichenberger of Shoals was driving a 1988 Ford F-150 westbound when the truck left the roadway, traveled over 470 feet, broke through a wooden fence, and went down an embankment before striking a tree. Reichenberger was pronounced dead at the scene by the Orange County Coroner’s Office. He was the only occupant of the vehicle. The crash remains under investigation, and the Sheriff’s Office has extended its condolences to Reichenberger’s family.
