Donald Edwin Vickers, 69, died unexpectedly at his home in Loogootee, Indiana on October 18, 2025.
Born on June 25, 1956, in Washington, Indiana, he was the beloved son of Donald V. and Mary (Sims) Vickers. Donald was an avid, self-described “gearhead”, having a passion for cars and motorcycles all his life. Out of that love came his life-long career as a mechanic. He collected model cars and amassed hundreds of Hot Wheels over the years. His nieces and nephews, whom he was very fond, enjoyed receiving gifts of those toy cars. He was a very vintage-minded person and loved old movies.
He was preceded in death by his father. Donald is lovingly remembered by his mother; his three daughters: Natalie, Mandi, and Brandi Vickers; Sisters: Patty (Steve) Glinis, Peggy (Don) Shea, and Mary Jane (Marty) Tarrh; several grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen according to his wishes. A private memorial and family gathering will be held.
