Entries are now being accepted for the 2025 Daviess County Christmas Parade, set for Saturday, December 6, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Lineup for the parade will start at 4:30 p.m. near NE 7th Street and Bedford Road. This year’s theme, “An American Christmas,” ties into the upcoming celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The evening parade invites participation from churches, schools, civic groups, clubs, businesses, and individuals, with organizers encouraging plenty of lights and music. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded in multiple categories, including Best Overall ($200), Best Business/Commercial ($150), and Best Non-Profit ($100). A $100 prize will also be given for the best lighted window display on Main Street. After the parade, Santa Claus will greet children at the Commons at Main and 3rd Streets, where Little Warrior Wishes will distribute storybooks. The Christmas tree lighting will follow at 7 p.m. There is no entry fee, and registration—though not required—is encouraged.
