
The City of Washington will hold several public meetings next week. The Common Council will meet Monday, October 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 200 Harned Avenue. The agenda includes a moment of silence for veterans, approval of previous meeting minutes, and the final reading of Ordinance No. 18-2025, revising Section 112 of the city’s code. Clerk-Treasurer Beth McGookey will also present the Annual TIF Spending Plan, followed by discussion of the city’s Interlocal Zoning Agreement with the Daviess County Commissioners. Immediately following the council meeting, the Board of Public Works and Safety will meet to review and approve claims. A special meeting of the Common Council is also scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, at 5:30 p.m. at the Eastside Park Community Building, located at 501 Burkhart Drive. That meeting will focus on further discussion of the Landlord Rental Dwelling Regulation Agreement. All meetings are open to the public.
