Dana Darlene (Houchin) Petty

Dana Darlene (Houchin) Petty, 63, passed away at her Montgomery residence during the afternoon of October 28, 2025. She was born in Washington, October 17, 1962, the daughter of Wayne and Karen (Brewster) Houchin. On October 25, 1980, she married her soulmate, David “Dave” Petty. Dana and Dave had just celebrated forty-five years of marriage.

In her earlier years, Dana had been a bus driver for the Washington Community Schools Corporation. Dana enjoyed going to antique tractor shows, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

Those who now cherish their memories of Dana include her husband, Dave Petty; daughters, Amy (Joey) Scott and Ashley (Adam) Jenkins, both of Montgomery. Dana was blessed with nine grandchildren: Jakob Hill, Keegan Scott, Kaiden Hill, Heaven Ley, Colten Hill, Peyton Scott, Emily Jenkins, Lerik Jenkins and Abel Jenkins. In addition, she leaves two sisters, Carol Bateman of Washington and Angela Daley of Ontario, Canada; and several nieces and nephews.

During her lifetime, Dana mourned the passing of her parents, Wayne and Karen Houchin; and a little sister who died in infancy.

Visitation for Dana Petty will be 11:00 am -1:00 pm, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.

Funeral services for Dana Petty will immediately follow the visitation on November 1, 2025, and begin at 1:00 pm, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Pastor Brad Rainey will officiate.
