Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Thursday morning on State Road 161 near County Road 1025 South in Dubois County. According to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene around 5:30 a.m. after a semi-tractor trailer left the roadway and crashed into a ditch. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Multiple agencies assisted, including Fire and EMS units, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Dubois County Hazmat, and the Holland Town Marshal. The vehicle was removed by local wrecker services, and State Road 161 reopened around 9:30 a.m. The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
