Volunteers gathered at the Eastside Park Community Building yesterday afternoon for the annual Retired Senior Volunteer Program Recognition Reception and Banquet. This year 43 volunteers were recognized for over 500 hours doing various volunteer projects for different groups and organizations. Others who have served were recognized for their years of service to the organization, from 5 years to over 35 years. Each year the RSVP Volunteer program in Daviess and Martin County racks up thousands of hours in volunteer work in each community that represents thousands and thousands of dollars in hours that these groups save in payroll. Washington Mayor Dave Rhoads and Loogootee Mayor Brian Ader were also in attendance to thank the group yesterday for what they do for our communities. If you would like to become a volunteer, reach out to Emily or Jennifer at the Center at the Eastside Park Community Building in Washington.
