After more than four decades of dedication, Vickie Padgett, Capital and Clinic Buyer at Daviess Community Hospital, retired on November 7. Padgett began her career at DCH in 1981 and quickly became known for her expertise in purchasing and her commitment to saving the hospital money while ensuring departments had the tools they needed to care for patients. Colleagues describe Padgett as a cornerstone of the hospital’s operations and a leader who exemplified teamwork and compassion. She also helped lead global donation efforts through Project HOPE and Project C.U.R.E., sending unused hospital supplies to clinics overseas. As she looks ahead to retirement, Padgett says she plans to spend more time with family, travel with her husband Leo, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. DCH leaders praised Padgett for her service, calling her career “a legacy of dedication, compassion, and excellence.”
