An Oaktown home was destroyed by fire Monday afternoon, though no injuries were reported. Firefighters were called to the residence of Gary Goodwin on Franklin Street around 4:30 p.m. after reports of smoke and flames coming from the home. Crews from Busseron and Washington Township Fire Departments responded and remained on the scene for about four hours. Despite their efforts, the home was declared a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
