Our Community Foundation has announced the fall recipients of its Teaching Innovator Grant, awarding Washington Community Schools $250 for a new project called Graffiti on Deck. Sixth-grade art teacher Kim Conder accepted the award and was named a Teaching Innovator. The project introduces students to graffiti as a legitimate art form. They will study its history, techniques, and cultural impact before designing artwork on miniature skateboards, combining hands-on creativity with lessons in popular culture and responsible expression. Our Community Foundation thanked local donors whose support makes these grants possible.
