The Salvation Army will host its annual “Battle of the Badges” fundraiser on Friday, December 12, as Washington police officers and firefighters compete to raise money for the Red Kettle Campaign. The friendly competition will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. outside Walmart in Washington. Every dollar donated to each team’s kettle counts toward their total, with all proceeds supporting local families during the holiday season. Residents can also give through Venmo by searching Daviess County Partnership–Connections and noting “Salvation Army” along with “Police,” “Fire,” or both. Organizers encourage the community to come out, show support, and help their favorite team claim this year’s bragging rights.
