A Daviess County special judge has found Joshua J. Eager guilty on all charges in a 2024 child molesting case, the Pike County Prosecutor’s Office announced Wednesday. Judge Gregory Smith issued the verdict after a bench trial, convicting Eager of Level 1 Felony Child Molesting, Level 6 Felony Sexual Battery, and Level 6 Felony Neglect of a Dependent. The case began in September 2024 when the minor victim reported the abuse to a school staff member, who immediately notified authorities. The investigation was led by Pike County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Scott Arnold with assistance from multiple deputies, child advocacy professionals, and the Indiana Department of Child Services. Prosecutor Darrin McDonald expressed gratitude to the victim for their courage in reporting the crime and testifying in court. Sentencing will follow.
