Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has filed a new lawsuit against Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly as part of his ongoing effort to lower insulin prices and improve healthcare affordability for Hoosiers. The lawsuit accuses the company of participating in deceptive market practices with other insulin manufacturers and pharmacy benefit managers that allegedly drove insulin prices sharply higher over the past decade. Rokita says nearly 700,000 Indiana residents live with diabetes and that inflated insulin costs have placed a heavy burden on patients. The legal action seeks court-ordered changes to market practices, along with damages and penalties, to promote fair competition and help ensure lower, more sustainable insulin prices for consumers across the state.
