Students from the Daviess County CEO program are inviting the community to their annual fundraiser, rescheduled for Monday, February 23, at Champion Lanes on State Street in Washington after being postponed due to winter weather. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with dinner and entertainment set for 6 to 8 p.m. The evening will feature magician Daniel Cullen, along with a silent auction that includes items such as a fire pit, mailbox, leaf blower, and tickets to see the St. Louis Cardinals and the zoo. Dinner will include smoked pork loin and garlic herb chicken with sides. Tickets are $25 for individuals and $20 for families, and previously purchased tickets will be honored. The CEO class includes Leo Wilson, a junior at Barr-Reeve and owner of Wilson Woodworking, which creates handmade cutting boards; Alton Ostby, a senior at Washington and owner of Ostby’s Hitting and Pitching Lab, offering baseball lessons; and Cohen Wittmer, a junior at Pleasant View and owner of Rolling with Co., specializing in cinnamon rolls. Proceeds from the event support the students as they build and operate their own businesses. More information and ticket details are available on the Daviess County CEO Facebook page.
