Multiple Local Government Meetings Scheduled in Washington

The Washington Common Council will meet Monday, February 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 200 Harned Avenue. The agenda includes approval of minutes from the February 9 meeting, presentation of claims, and other business. Christina Davis will address the council in recognition of Rare Disease Day in Washington. Clerk-Treasurer Beth McGookey will review the City of Washington and Redevelopment Authority Annual Financial Reports, and Mayor Rhoads will deliver the annual State of the City Address.

Immediately following the council meeting, the Washington Board of Public Works & Safety will convene. Items on that agenda include approval of minutes and claims, discussion of the water tower at Washington High School, and consideration of salary and position changes within the Fire and Street Departments.

The Daviess County Commissioners will meet Tuesday, February 24, at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Daviess County Government Center in Washington. The agenda includes approval of meeting minutes from February 10, highway project updates and environmental compliance assistance, and discussion of a CPC contract with Gary Allison. Commissioners will also consider a limited use agreement, an updated memorandum of understanding with Deaconess, and payroll and claims dockets. Additional items include recognition of the JNROA School Resource Officer of the Year Award and the Chief Nick Derzis Safe School Leadership Award, along with reports from the West Boggs Park Board and the monthly clerk report. A budget report is also scheduled.
